High cloud base, not much wind and strong thermals - the 2nd of June was a really epic day! NOVA pilots flew a total of 22 FAI triangles over 200 km. And one outstanding feat: the new tandem world record of Stefan and Uli Lauth - a 232 km FAI triangle on a BION 2.

Philipp Medicus has been working at NOVA for nearly ten years and in the past five he has been the head of the design and testing team.  This year, he and Luis Depping (NOVA harness designer), decided to make a detour on their way to the Coupe Icare and headed to Mont Blanc. Incidentally, the highest mountain in the Alps at 4808 meters.

Werner Schütz, Urs Haari and Armin Leitner have won the sports class of the national German, Swiss and Austrian cross-country championships – all flying a NOVA SECTOR.  With this impressive achievement, the pilots have demonstrated the outstanding cross-country potential of this wing.

For the last twelve years we have been awarding the Pilot and Newcomer of the Year at our annual Team Pilots Meeting. In 2018, the award went to Toni Brügger (SUI), Hans  Tockner  and  Tommy  Hofbauer  (AUT).  "Newcomers of the Year" were Maxime Boudot  (FRA) and Christoph Feichtl (AUT). So, why did they win?
