In May 2022, Pierre Carter plans to climb and hopefully summit Mount Everest, with high hopes to fly from the top. With his 7Summits7Flights project the South-African intends to climb and fly from the highest summit on every continent. Two are missing, Everest and Mount Vinson in Antarctica. His team is about to leave the town on Namche Bazaar in…

As in the previous year, the NOVA Climb & Fly Team did not miss the opportunity to hold a joint team meeting. Despite the pandemic, it was possible to spend a wonderful weekend at the Volkzeiner mountain hut in East Tyrol in a responsible manner and with a lot of distance from civilisation (in the truest sense of the word). The CFT local legends…

Since the founding of the NOVA Pilots Team sub-team in July 2020, three female and seven male pilots have been climbing and flying the highest and most beautiful mountains in the Alps under the name NOVA Climb & Fly Team (CFT). The focus is on the passion for para-mountaineering, i.e. the combination of paragliding with climbing and alpine touring.…

The tenth edition of the X-Alps has come to an end. What a great show! The irresistible Chrigel Maurer has won for the seventh time in a row. And the other athletes delivered fantastic performances and provided the best entertainment for us couch potato pilots. Yesterday, blogger Roli Mäder philosophised about the athletes' performances, the risk…

By the time this blog post goes online, dear readers, it won't be 24 hours until the 10th Red Bull X-Alps are history. Time for a summary - split between today and tomorrow. Let’s have a look at the performance of the athletes, what can go wrong and why.…

A little devil would have taken Chrigel's paraglider away from him yesterday on the Schmittenhöhe, packed a few rocks in his backpack and sent him on foot down to the lake for a swim. It's a mockery that the X-Alps are still going on for three days, but the winner and his closest pursuers seem to have taken advantage of the beautiful weather. They…

HE has closed the bag: The Eagle has landed! This time not on the moon, but on the raft on the Zeller See. The alien, the one and only Chrigel Maurer has won the Red Bull X-Alps for the seventh time in a row. We congratulate and bow our heads in deepest respect to the King of the X-Alps. When HE crossed the finish line, HE was about 130 km ahead of…

For those who did not follow the live tracking today: this was probably the day of the seventh X-Alps victory for Chrigel Maurer. You don't have to be a prophet to make this prediction. The eagle flies and flies and flies – while his closest pursuers can't quite make headway in worse aerological conditions. The “Eagle from Adelboden” easily…
