NOVA XC-Challenge 2015:

Stephanie Boselli wins the PRION Challenge

The inaugural round of the NOVA XC Challenge, which is an internal brand cross-country competition, took place during the 2014/15 season. With a number of good flights, Stephanie "Stibä" Boselli secured the win in the PRION class. Her prize: a brand new NOVA SOMNIUM!

The 30-year-old Swiss pilot didn't just submit ONE good flight on her PRION 2 - she submitted many. She will keep her wing for the forthcoming 2015/16 season. "I think the PRION and I make a good team and I once said I wouldn't change my wing until I had flown 150km. Maybe that was a little too ambitious", says Stibä.

These days she sometimes misses a little speed and oomph. "On the other hand, in strong turbulence I am always happy that I am on a tame wing. We'll see what the next season brings."

The winning flight was a 87km flat triangle from the Weissenstein (Jura), completed in a respectable average speed of 18.16 km/h.

She explains about the flight:

"Ha ha, that was a fun flight. The conditions were excellent but unfortunately I arrived at take-off much too late. The reason was the Barberie, a big festival in Biel, on the Saturday night. When I woke up and saw the wonderful weather I had to rush out to fly. The flight was beautiful and base was unusually high for the Jura area. On my return leg, I made a mistake and flew along the south side of the Jura mountains - and that put me on the ground. In short: I still had a lot of fun, I learnt a lot and if I had got up earlier, I could have achieved more."
